background information
Metrographics was established in May 1986 to provide quality digital typesetting services, then expanded capabilities and staff to offer mechanical preparation, original artwork, darkroom services, electronic design, copywriting (as needed), desktop publishing and print brokering. Metrographics shifted with the ever-improving technology to electronic design and output, providing customers' artwork in various export formats, or film output and match prints. At its sale in 1998, Metrographics was servicing more than 200 accounts, all resulting from "word of mouth" advertising. As a sole proprietor, I managed creative direction, personnel, training, billing, equipment and purchases, and focused on creating and maintaining loyal vendor, client and employee relationships.
After selling my design studio in November 1998 and completing my negotiated work commitment with buyer, I created a new start-up, AMP Graphics, from my home office. Fulfill client needs for ad and brochure design, web design, billboards, transportation artwork, posters, ad specialties, and an endless variety of custom marketing and advertising requests. Extremely proficient in Photoshop CS3, Adobe InDesign, CorelDraw 12, Power Point, Vegas Video 3.0 and FrontPage 2003 and utilize Adobe Image Ready, Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator and Macromedia Flash for certain elements and exports. Partial listing of clients includes The Champions' Club, World Triathlon Corporation (Ironman), Professional Communications Systems, Tampa Bay Imprints, Advanced Intervention, Cancer Centers of Florida, ADvantage Indoor Advertising, City Publications, Fessler Insurance Agency and Attorney's Marketing.
